Thomas Allen of Buckingham Foods was crowned Sandwich Designer of the Year 2009 at the Sammies, the British Sandwich Industry's annual awards ceremony.

Following regional heats, the grand final took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London where the winners in each of four categories were chosen by a panel of expert judges assessing the entrants' creative and commercial skills
