Jonathon Bryant's Spicy Gourmet Wholewheat & Honey Demi Baguette

Gourmet eating with the convenience of a sandwich. Rich, tender bresaola (sometimes called beef prosciutto) is complimented by the tart chèvre cheese (goat's cheese) and crisp buttercrunch lettutce.

Jonathon Bryant of Martins Bakers and Sandwich Makers in Manchester created the "Spicy Gourmet Wholewheat & Honey Demi Baguette" as his entry in the 2006 Sandwich Designer of the Year Awards category "English Provender (Suffolk Foods) Hot & Spicy Sandwich Designer of the Year."

Ingredients

Method

  1. Cut the demi baguette open lengthways and lightly butter both sides
  2. Spread on hot & spicy relish
  3. Add the lettuce leaves
  4. Lay on the sliced Bresaola
  5. Crumble on the chevre cheese and season to taste

Asked what makes his creation stand out from the competition Jonathon said:

"This is an easy to produce filling, with great flavour and texture ,which combines well with the “Artisan” bread, creating an innovative sandwich!"
